The Lehigh University fraternity house group, The Shrooms, (a precursor to the group, The Progressive Shamanists) performed on the grounds of Warren Square, Bethlehem, Pennsylvania in the afternoon on Saturday, November 07, 1981. The band opened with the song, Light Up Or Leave Me Alone to a small audience of approximately fifty spectators on the yard adjacent to fraternity house at 227 Warren Square. As the group formed in late November, 1980, the band members, Jim Jordan (percussion), Keith Swanson (bass guitar, vocals), Bob Jones (keyboard), Scott Keller (vocals) and Greg Pichler (guitar, vocals), vigorously practiced in the basement of the Annex at 216 Warren Square over the course of the Fall semester of 1981.

The group's more respectable renditions include Light Up Or Leave Me Alone (Capaldi, Traffic), Different For Girls (Joe Jackson), Switch Me On (Huw Roberts), For Your Love (The Yardbirds), Behind Blue Eyes (Keith Townsend), and Cities (David Byrne). Further, Scott Keller's lead vocal on the Joe Jackson song, Different For Girls, is rock solid. Further, Swanson's aggressive and driving bass progression on the Talking Heads's song, Cities, is awe inspiring.
