Background
The members of the group, the Headlights, including Ed Rosenthal, Raymund Cuevo and Greg Pichler, met a number of time after graduating Walt Whitman High School, while on break from their respective University studies. In the case of Raymund Cuevo, Cuevo returned on break from pursuing a biology, chemistry undergraduate degree program at Yale University. In the case of Ed Rosenthal, Rosenthal returned on break from pursing a political science program at Unviersity of Pennsylvania.
Over the course of Spring break of 1979, the three met at the Highboto Drive studio to record a number of original songs composed by Pichler.
The collection entitled, Spring Break, 1979, was recorded on a TEAC 2-track, 7 1/2 inch, reel-to-reel, tape recorder. The 7.5 inch tape was recorded at the Highboro Drive Studio over the course of a number of rehearsals in February 25, 1979 or thereabouts. The tape sleeve is labeled, Spring Break, 1979.
