The Nor'Easter Collection



The Progressive Shamanists, including Keith Swanson, Rob Kowtko and Greg Pichler met at the Dune Road studio in Bethany Beach, Delaware on the weekend, starting Friday, October 25, 1986 or thereabouts. During that weekend the group recorded the two songs on a Tascam 22-4, reel-to-reel tape deck, including an instrumental labeled Whitewash (Swanson), and another instrumental labeled The Nor'Easter. Keith Swanson composed both instrumental songs.

At this point in time Rob Prigge had graduated from the Arts and Sciences College of Lehigh University with a bachelor's of science degree and was serving in the U.S. Army. In fact the US military shipped Prigge to the Demilitarized Zone on the Korean peninsula.

Guitarist, Greg Pichler, and acoustic guitarist, Dan Monaco, recorded two of the remaining tracks on the tapes that fill out the collection, including And It Goes On (D Monaco), and I Don't Know Why (D Monaco) at his private studio at 2815 Yarling Court, Falls Church, Virginia.

Guitarist, Greg Pichler, composed and recorded the opening track on the collection, Turn Into Night (GE Pichler)also at his private studio at 2815 Yarling Court, Falls Church, Virginia.

The video includes still, photo images of all the members of the group over the course of the weekend session.
