Greg Pichler of the Progressive Shamanists originally composed the song, Love Gave Me The Answers (To The Wrong Exam), on Tuesday, March 23, 1982. Pichler introduced the song to the other members of The Phoenix that following weekend at the Tanglewood, Pennsylvania studio.

What the song is about

The song, Love Gave Me The Answers (To The Wrong Exam), is about a first year student, David Silverman, who pledge Tau Epsilon Phi fraternity, and subsequently transfered out of the Business College at Lehigh University after only one academic year.
