Les chamanistes progressistes, dont Keith Swanson, Tim, Rudy et Rob Kowtko, se sont rencontrés au studio de Tanglewood, en Pennsylvanie, le week-end, à partir du vendredi 18 mars 1988 ou à peu près. Au cours de ce week-end, le groupe a enregistré dix chansons sur cassette.

The group largely focused on new material. However, the group did produce a redition of Kowtko's song, Who Said The Word, Tonight. of any songs the group had previously recorded with the exception of the song, KGB, which Kowtko wrote in 1984 or thereabouts. Swanson introduced seven original songs to the group, including the song entitled, Valdex, Pop Tune, Toothpaste, Pop Tart Dilemma, Dawn, Synchrospation and Zanzibar. The group focussed entirely on original music over the course of the weekend session and refrained from performing any cover songs by other artists with the exception of the Doors's song, Waiting For The Sun. The group's more respectable renditions include Valdez (K Swanson), Pop Tune (K Swanson), Zanzibar (K Swanson) and Waiting For The Sun (The Doors).

Six des sept chansons composées par Keith Swanson étaient instrumentales. Rob Kowtko a contribué à la voix principale de la chanson, Zanzibar.
